UPS Freight Teamsters Deserve Better
UPS Freight Teamsters across the country voted NO to reject their proposed contract. UPS made $4.5 billion last year but the new contract is worse than the first-ever contract at UPS Freight.
Local 251 members deserve better.
The International Union has signed a contract extension with UPS which requires a 30-day notice to cancel it. In the meantime, Local 251 members at UPS Freight have gotten no information about what improvements will be negotiated in the contract.
Members across the country are calling for improvements in the new contract, including:
- Language banning subcontracting of Teamster work, and no substandard LHD board.
- Pension improvements.
- No premiums for health insurance: Why is our contract the only Teamster trucking contract that forces members to pay premiums?
- Raises of $1/hour each year—or at least match the UPS package raises, like in the first contract.
UPS made $4.5 billion last year. Local 251 members at UPS Freight deserve better union representation and a better contract.
